ManageEngine Achieves ENS Certification for Cloud and On-Premises Solutions

ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, has successfully obtained the Spanish government's Esquema Nacional de Seguridad (National Security Framework) certification. The company achieved this certification in the INTERMEDIATE (medium) category in its very first attempt after a rigorous evaluation of all its cloud and on-premises solutions by BDO, an independent audit firm. "Regulatory frameworks ensure high levels of trust for citizens using government, public and private digital services. Over the last 13 years, the National Security Framework (ENS) has evolved into a comprehensive framework that helps companies make modern technologies more secure so people can use them with confidence. We at ManageEngine are excited to receive this certification, which is a testament to our continued efforts to fulfill the needs of our Spanish customers," said Rajesh Ganesan, president of ManageEngine. The ENS is comprised of principles and requirements for protecting the information processed by the entities within its scope. It intends to ensure the access, confidentiality, integrity, traceability, authenticity, availability and retention of the data and services that the compliant organizations manage. This framework, which was instituted in 2010 and recently updated by Royal Decree 311/2022, applies to all organizations, including those of the private and public sectors. The categories of this system are basic, INTERMEDIATE (medium) and high.

The Certification Process

The certification process began with ManageEngine's compliance teams studying the regulation and performing a systematic, micro-level analysis of the business requirements. The evaluation for the ENS conformity certification was then carried out by BDO, an audit firm accredited by the Entidad Nacional de Acreditación (ENAC) — the only national accreditation agency appointed by the Spanish government. ManageEngine was incentivized to apply under the recently revised framework due to its strong compliance posture. The evaluation, which encompassed audits of the company's European Union data centers (located in Dublin and Amsterdam), announced ManageEngine as a certified company that met all the requirements of the compliance policy. The ENS certification validates the company's commitment to upholding the highest standards of security and privacy. ManageEngine aims to further improve its security postureto adapt to evolving compliance requirements and offer safe hands into which customers can entrust their data. Having achieved this certification milestone, the company now seeks to climb up the ladder from the INTERMEDIATE (medium) category to the high category in the next evaluation, which is scheduled to take place in 2025.
