IT Central Station is a fast-growing professional social network for enterprise IT professionals to share knowledge and expertise. It's like Yelp or TripAdvisor for IT. We created IT Central Station to offer the end user community a vendor-neutral site in which real users share their candid opinions about APM solutions and other enterprise software they use.

Reading reviews on IT Central Station are a valuable source to understand the challenges that other companies are facing today when managing application performance and choosing the right APM vendor to address their needs.

The following are three themes I have seen discussed in some of our recent APM reviews:

1. Identifying and troubleshooting end-user delays

Identifying and troubleshooting end-user delays is an important and time-consuming issue, especially when working with a small team and expansive network. This often needs to be accomplished with a minimal amount of engineering support. Visibility into data centers and differentiating between application and network issues is also key to a complete solution.

2. One unified monitoring tool

Companies have different platforms which they prefer to monitor from one unified tool. Doing so helps to make their lives easier by providing one central solution which supports all of their platforms. Without a complete solution, they are forced to implement various manual scripts for each of their platforms which becomes difficult to manage.

3. Easy to use and integrate

Organizations look for integration of real user monitoring and ease of use for technical drill downs. Additionally, they look for mature solutions which are easy to use and integrate smoothly with their other solutions.

These themes are based on real reviews from real users of APM solutions. We monitor all APM reviews to prevent fraudulent reviews and keep review quality high. We do not post reviews by company employees or direct competitors. We validate each review for authenticity via cross-reference with LinkedIn, and personal follow-up with the reviewer when necessary.
