It's no surprise that the network can be an IT professional's most demanding companion, especially when connectivity is sluggish, email is down or any number of other connected things go wrong. And with networks sure to face a whole new set of challenges in the coming year – between BYOD, the Internet of Things (IoT), software defined networking (SDN), security, and beyond – the network administrator's relationship status with the network is likely to become "It's Complicated."
Still, on Valentine's Day it's important to show the love for the most important people – or networks – in our lives. In honor of the upcoming holiday, SolarWinds recently asked its thwack community of more than 125,000 IT pros to respond to the prompt: "If you could say one thing to your network, what would it be?" The answers, turned into a series of eCards, describe the loving, but sometimes contentious, relationship between IT pros and the network.
