ExtraHop Networks' EH1000v virtual appliance is now certified and available for the Cisco Unified Computing System Express (UCS-E).

With ExtraHop’s recent news that its network-based APM solution is verified Citrix Ready for XenDesktop and XenApp and Cisco’s and Citrix’s strategic alliance to deliver rich-media-enabled virtual desktops, this certification is particularly valuable for branch office customers running Citrix VDI with Cisco UCS-E.

ExtraHop’s UCS-E validation is another proof point of the ExtraHop system’s complete visibility for end-to-end application environments, from the datacenter to the branch office.

Managing applications and desktop environments across the enterprise is a daily challenge as applications continue to become more complex. This problem is only exacerbated at branch offices, which have few or no IT staff and are trying to consolidate IT to reduce complexity, footprint, and cost. Furthermore, while VDI is one way to simplify the management of routine operational tasks at branch offices, it also obscures visibility into end-user experience.

ExtraHop’s EH1000v addresses these challenges by providing real-time transaction analysis at sustained 1Gbps speeds for applications running in branch-office deployments, including virtualized desktops and applications. This approach enables geographically distributed IT teams, including Citrix administrators, to quickly troubleshoot application performance problems. A virtual appliance that can be deployed and managed remotely, the EH1000v delivers a small-footprint solution and a scalable, cost-effective option for monitoring application performance across large numbers of branch offices.

“Cisco owns 80 to 90 percent of the data networking market, so it’s great exposure for us to be certified for the Cisco UCS-E,” said Jesse Rothstein, ExtraHop CEO and co-founder. “This certification further validates our ability to deliver completely passive, network-based, end-to-end application performance management across the enterprise, all the way from the datacenter to the branch office.”

ExtraHop has joined the Cisco Developer Network as a Registered Developer within the Cisco Integrated Services Routers technology category. In addition, ExtraHop’s 1000v has successfully completed interoperability testing with Cisco Unified Computing System Express Services-Ready Engine.

The Cisco Developer Network unites Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers. As a Registered Developer, ExtraHop provides a complementary product offering and continues to collaborate with Cisco to meet the needs of joint customers. With the ExtraHop 1000v, customers can more quickly deploy a broad range of Cisco Compatible business applications, devices, or services that can enhance the capabilities, performance, and management of their Cisco network.
