Ipanema Appoints Ex-Riverbed SVP as CEO

Ipanema Technologies announced Jim Darragh as its Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

In his new role, Darragh will aggressively push Ipanema Technologies as a leading challenger in the WAN Optimization Controllers (WOC) and Services (WOS) markets and the only vendor who can dynamically guarantee application performance for every user.

Darragh’s experience spans 20 years in international, high-growth software and hardware companies, most noticeably his recent roles as CEO of Zeus Technology and SVP at Riverbed. He is expertly aware of the market in which Ipanema Technologies operates. He understands the current shift in the marketplace towards WAN Optimization as a service (WOS) and passionately believes Ipanema Technologies is fantastically placed to take advantage of this.

Darragh explains his decision to join the company, “This sector is set for explosive growth in the coming years and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be at the helm of a company that can capitalize on this. Ipanema Technologies offers the perfect antidote to everyone currently under pressure to operate, deliver and control networks cost effectively in what is an increasingly complex environment with more and more applications being added daily.”

Darragh continues, “There are four things that attracted me to Ipanema Technologies – customers, technology, the market, and the people. Ipanema works with an impressive list of big, global brand names; the technology is cutting-edge and there’s a culture of innovation that I believe will keep it that way, the market is ripe for the picking and the people are passionate and committed. This is a mix that I can work with and I’m confident that I can take Ipanema Technologies to the next level.”

Jean-Yves Leclerc, Executive Chairman at Ipanema Technologies, comments, “Darragh’s previous leadership has been visionary and this is exactly what we need. The challenge for Ipanema Technologies now is to be part of every business IT consideration; that’s the kind of attention our technology warrants. It’s not everyday that you meet someone who understands our market and has the leadership and operational skills to make something happen; Darragh is that man.”
