Juniper Networks and Partners Demonstrate Quantum Safe Solutions Between Data Centers and AWS

Juniper Networks, LuxQuanta, lyntia and Merqury Cybersecurity have partnered to demonstrate a private quantum-secured connection between on-premises data centers and Amazon Web Services (AWS). 

The four companies are part of a broader initiative designed to protect critical data transmissions against future quantum-enabled cyber threats. By successfully combining lyntia’s infrastructure, LuxQuanta’s Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems, Merqury’s key management solutions and Juniper’s AI-Native security portfolio, the initiative demonstrates the practicality and ease of deployment of quantum-resistant networks today.

By working with these key partners, AWS customers can benefit from cutting-edge quantum technologies that enhance network resiliency,” said Raj Yavatkar, Chief Technology Officer at Juniper Networks. 

Sebastian Etcheverry, Chief Technology Officer at LuxQuanta, added: “Our initiative, in collaboration with AWS, advances the implementation of secure communications to cloud users, marking a crucial step toward scalable, resilient quantum security solutions.”

The demonstration, conducted at the AWS Direct Connect location in Madrid, Spain, connects multiple data centers through a quantum-secured, point-to-multipoint quantum network design. The architecture includes dynamic routing within Iyntia’s backbone fiber network, which creates a realistic production scenario with staging traffic from lyntia’s management and inventory monitoring systems. LuxQuanta’s Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems integrate with Juniper Networks’s encryption technologies to protect lyntia’s optical metro network, while Merqury Cybersecurity’s Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) solutions are applied to further secure cloud connectivity and create a comprehensive, multi-layered defense strategy for critical cloud data.
