Keynote is tracking critical mobile and web performance metrics for major US online retailers this holiday season.

The importance of smooth sailing site performance during the critical holiday shopping season has grown exponentially in terms of direct impact on business performance.

Keynote is analyzing the consumer’s purchasing journey across three screens. Keynote’s special three screen online holiday shopping index measures transaction speeds, not just home pages, to see how fast consumers can purchase a common electronics item from each site, and compares the experience for customers shopping on either a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

With the recent problems around Healthcare.gov, attention has spiked around high-volume transaction sites. For the start of this year’s holiday shopping season, Keynote will be watching whether Black Friday and Cyber Monday still matter, as stores start offering deals on Thanksgiving (Gray Thursday), and also if the dramatic increase in mobile shopping continues.

Last year saw a 20% increase in mobile shopping putting increased pressure on the performance of mobile-optimized sites.

Major retailers Keynote is monitoring across three screens include:

- Amazon

-Apple Store

- Best Buy

- CDW

- Dell

- HP

- Newegg

- Office Depot

- Office Max

- Overstock

- Sears

- Sony Styles

- Walmart

There will be daily checks on Keynote’s three screen retail index from Friday through Tuesday and then Keynote will be available to the media for interviews all holiday season long to report data and insights gleaned from the index.
