New Relic announced new promotions designed to drive product excellence and advance customer success. Jim Gochee has been named Chief Product Officer, a newly created position reporting directly to CEO and Founder Lew Cirne. In addition, sales leader Erica Schultz has been promoted to EVP, Commercial and Enterprise.
“New Relic has always been and always will be a product-first company,” said Cirne. “We believe that Jim is the ideal person to lead a unified product organization that will continue our efforts to design, build, deliver, and operate amazing products that delight our customers.”
As Chief Product Officer, Gochee will continue to have responsibility for product strategy, product design, product management, research, corporate development, and will add engineering and site operations. In his previous role as SVP of Product Strategy, Gochee led the team responsible for designing the New Relic Software Analytics Cloud. This industry-leading multi-tenant, SaaS-based platform is trusted by thousands of companies, government agencies, and non-profits in their efforts to improve their customers’ digital experience with their web and mobile channels.
“New Relic has seen tremendous response from our customers to our Software Analytics Cloud,” said Gochee. “I’m proud to lead New Relic’s global product and engineering teams, who inspire me every day with their commitment to innovation and quality.”
As EVP, Commercial and Enterprise, Schultz will continue to report to Chief Revenue Officer Hilarie Koplow-McAdams and lead the company’s global go-to-market strategy for the world’s largest organizations. Schultz joined the company in 2014 as SVP and led the company’s expansion into the Commercial and Enterprise markets, as well as internationally. Under her leadership, New Relic has seen accelerated success in the enterprise market even as the company demonstrated growth across all customer segments.
“Today, every company is becoming a software company,” said Schultz. “And I believe we’re just beginning to help our customers understand the full potential of how software analytics can help their businesses succeed.”
Cirne added, “Erica is a remarkably talented executive and I’m confident in her ability to drive continued success establishing New Relic as a more strategic vendor with the world’s largest companies.”
