BMC Software announced the availability of its Remedy OnDemand solution for the government sector – an ITSM SaaS solution optimized for local, state, federal and public higher-education markets.
Developed to meet the needs of government agencies, Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector is expected to be the first ITSM SaaS solution to receive the US Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program’s (FedRAMP) provisional authorization once FedRAMP becomes fully operational later this year.
The BMC Remedy OnDemand solution provides SaaS access to the full power and capabilities of the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite (ITSM).
BMC Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector is designed to meet the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), and the low and moderate level security controls are being implemented as outlined in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53, Revision 3 (Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations), for Software-as-a-Service.
This FISMA compliance will be able to guarantee that the BMC solution meets or exceeds the minimum security requirements for government organizations. Unlike competitive offerings that attempt to address this market, the BMC offering will support FISMA guidelines for the application and the service in addition to the infrastructure.
Dell is hosting the solution as part of a comprehensive private cloud IT solution for BMC. This gives BMC the critical capabilities to scale its environment according to customer demand and perform self-administration and management of virtual environments, supported by the Dell Cloud solutions team. In addition to the hosting services, Dell is also teaming with BMC to resell the Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector solution to public school districts and state and local governments across the country.
BMC Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector is available on a subscription basis and allows customers to access service desk, self-service, change, asset, service level management, knowledge management, dashboard and analytics tools anywhere at any time.
