Savvius announced a new USB WiFi adapter capable of capturing and analyzing two streams of 802.11ac network traffic.

Savvius WiFi Adapter for OmniPeek (802.11ac) is available now with support for all international 802.11a/b/g/n/ac deployments.

Building on the success of Savvius' WiFi adapter for 802.11a/b/g/n, which is still available for three-stream 802.11n applications, the new 802.11ac adapter connects to any laptop's external USB port and is certified for use with the industry-leading packet-based WLAN analysis solutions from Savvius, OmniPeek Professional, OmniPeek Enterprise, and Capture Engine for OmniPeek.

"The WLAN market has waited a long time for an affordable product that can effectively analyze network packet data at 802.11ac speeds," said Mandana Javaheri, CTO at Savvius. "The simple and powerful features of this capture adapter allow businesses to bring enterprise-class WLAN monitoring and troubleshooting to any location, addressing an immediate need in the industry."

Key features of the Savvius WiFi Adapter for OmniPeek (802.11ac) include:

- Up to two-stream 802.11ac support.

- Dual band: 2.4GHz (b/g/n) and 5GHz (a/n/ac) operation

- Self-contained: no requirement for an external power supply or antenna

- Multiple adapters may be used simultaneously for multi-channel analysis

- Supports all international 802.11 channels (a/b/g/n/ac).

- Cost-effective solution
