Sumo Logic Names New VP of Engineering

Sumo Logic announced the appointment of Sandeep Khanna as VP of Engineering where he will lead research, development, operations and continued innovation of the company’s machine data analytics platform.

Khanna is a 25-year veteran leading technology innovation and product development in digital advertising, analytics, infrastructure, operating system and distributed computing at companies such as Microsoft, Yahoo, WebMD and Sun Microsystems.

“Sumo Logic has made tremendous advances innovating on our cloud-native machine data analytics service, and as we continue to scale and deliver the innovative service our 1,000 plus and growing customer base expects, we’re excited to add Sandeep with his impressive pedigree to the team,” said Ramin Sayar, President and CEO for Sumo Logic. “Sandeep’s deep experience building highly scalable products, executing solutions from product definition to development and managing services is a perfect fit, as he understands the value Sumo Logic brings to customers and can help us expand and grow our service.”

Prior to joining Sumo Logic, Khanna was with Microsoft where he was responsible for all aspects of display advertising R&D, including product strategy, definition, creation and quality of service. Recently, he was responsible for the successful transition of the display platform to AOL. Before joining Microsoft, Khanna led Yahoo’s product and technology teams responsible for defining the strategy, direction and execution of critical initiatives across areas of HotJobs, Shopping, Travel, Local, Right Media Exchange and Display Advertising Platform. Khanna has also held engineering leadership positions at WebMD and Sun Microsystems.
