AppDynamics Partners with PagerDuty

AppDynamics is now integrated with PagerDuty, the SaaS-based provider of IT alerting and incident management software.

By combining AppDynamics’ granular visibility of applications with PagerDuty’s intelligent alerting capabilities, customers ensure the right people are proactively notified when business impact occurs, allowing IT teams to get apps up and running as quickly as possible.

The PagerDuty/AppDynamics collaboration offers the following:

- Easy installation process

- Email notification to an on-call duty schedule that can be overridden for emergencies

- The ability to identify maintenance time to ignore bogus incidents

- Dashboard of incidents with assignments and status

- Options for acknowledging, reassigning, or resolving incidents

- Phone and SMS capabilities to over 170 countries

“AppDynamics with PagerDuty helps avoid the perils of ‘false alert storms,’ which tend to happen with applications experience slow performance and trigger notifications to the support teams, said Alex Solomon, PagerDuty CEO & Co-founder. “Now teams will only receive these notifications when the relevant application is their responsibility. When teams don’t have to sift through irrelevant alerts, they can respond to incidents in a timely fashion.”
