Dr. Terry Critchley, author of the Book High Availability Systems, has joined The BSM Blog on APMdigest.
Dr. Critchley is a retired IT consultant living near Manchester in the UK. He studied Physics at Manchester University (using some of Rutherford's original equipment) and gained an Honors degree in Physics, followed five years later with a PhD in Nuclear Physics. He then joined IBM as a Systems Engineer and spent 24 years there in a variety of accounts and specializations, latterly joining Oracle for 3 years. Dr. Critchley joined his last company, Sun Microsystems in 1996 and left there in 2001.
In 1993 he co-authored a book on Open Systems for the British Computer Society, recently published High Availability IT Systems and is currently writing a book on High Performance IT Systems.
