APM BOTTOM-LINE BENEFIT: Customer Satisfaction

Jason Meserve

Let’s face it, we as consumers are a finicky bunch. We expect 105 percent uptime and faster-than-instantaneous response time from the Web services and applications we interact and do business with.

For businesses, downtime and poor performance can result in lost revenue as customers go elsewhere. While these demands might be a bit outrageous, it’s up to IT to try to live up to and deliver upon these expectations by assuring critical and revenue-generating services are running efficiently.

A comprehensive Application Performance Management system helps IT organizations do just that by monitoring all user transactions and linking them to the underlying infrastructure to monitor for performance degradations, alert operators to impending issues and provide them with the ability to quickly pinpoint problem root cause to reduce time to repair.

Without APM, businesses might be blind to the customer experience and could be losing revenue due to poor performance.
