Cherwell Software Collaborates with VMware

Cherwell Software is working with VMware to enable enterprises to accelerate the deployment and management of applications and infrastructure through ITSM processes

The Cherwell Service Management platform and VMware vRealize Automation solution will enable users to request services, such as the creation of virtual machines, through the Cherwell Service Management Service Catalog. This solution will enable IT to automate the fulfillment of end user requests and to instantly provision resources through vRealize Automation. Entitlements stored within vRealize Automation will be automatically displayed in the Cherwell Service Catalog to appropriately show the set of services a given user is permitted to order or consume. Cherwell Service Management and VMware solutions will give IT both the speed and control required to automate and modernize the delivery of IT infrastructure.

"Increasingly complex and heterogeneous IT ecosystems require IT organizations to broker, integrate, and orchestrate the delivery of IT systems and services across a hybrid mix of public cloud and on-premises data centers," said Robert Young, Research Director, ITSM and Client Virtualization software, IDC. "Likewise, to keep up with the needs of more technology-dependent businesses, IT organizations must increasingly embrace concepts such as DevOps, big data analytics, and hybrid cloud initiatives. However, in order to do so effectively, IT must be able to quickly and dynamically provision the infrastructure, applications, and other resources needed to deliver business services.

With Cherwell Service Management and VMware vRealize Automation, IT organizations will leverage a comprehensive and automated approach to ITSM and infrastructure and application provisioning, as well as management processes across physical, virtual, and cloud architectures. As a result, IT organizations will be able to modernize and streamline the delivery of business services, while also freeing up valuable IT staff and resources.

"In the world of IT services, time is money. Anything that helps businesses move faster can directly impact the bottom line", said Sajai Krishnan, VP of Product Marketing, Management Suites Business Unit, VMware. "By working with Cherwell, we are helping enterprises automate and accelerate IT service provisioning and delivery across their organizations."

"We have watched for decades as IT teams struggled to deliver on strategic business initiatives. They had the desire and skills, but not the tools, to easily automate service delivery and other processes. Cherwell is excited to collaborate with VMware to offer deeper, automated IT infrastructure fulfillment to IT service management organizations that are on the front line of serving their organizations," said Vance Brown, CEO of Cherwell Software.

VMware and Cherwell plan to continue to build integrations between other products to further empower IT organizations to deliver a service-oriented operating model for cloud deployments.
