More 2014 APM Predictions

Jim Young

In 2014, we will see further synergies between and APM SaaS and DevOps to a create delivery model that will allow for rapid deployment, rapid development cycles (days instead of weeks and months), and ultimately - continuous delivery.

Exciting advances in big data, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence will enable us to move closer to intelligent, proactive, and pre-emptive application performance management.

We will see further market diversification, as more SMEs and non-technical lines of business realise the need to have command and control over ever-more dispersed and diverse IT ecosystems, combined with the relatively low cost of doing so through the SaaS pay-as-you-go model.

The decentralization of application management and speed of change will be further accelerated by growing adoption of Platform as a Service, with an increased number of private PaaS deployments in large corporations joining the public PaaS services that developers have flocked to.
