Ivanti announced extended Cache Roaming functionality for Ivanti Environment Manager that more deeply supports the mobility demands of today’s end users.

Improving the user experience in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments, Ivanti Environment Manager Cache Roaming now supports concurrent user connections to Office 365, from multiple sessions or desktops, and also fully roams search indexes for immediate results after logon.

“Digital workers demand consistent access to their Office 365 applications without fear of data loss or inconsistencies between devices,” said Jon Rolls, VP, User Workspace Management Products at Ivanti. “With these enhancements to our Cache Roaming capability, users of Office 365 and other apps that rely on large caches will get a fast experience immediately after logging into a new session, with instant search results and no conflicts if they have multiple sessions open.”

Cache Roaming for Ivanti Environment Manager supports VDI infrastructures including Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, and VMware Horizon, as well as direct Microsoft Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) scenarios. The feature uses a VHD (virtual hard disk file) container which attaches to the user’s virtual desktop or session to maintain the most current user content. This enterprise-scale solution delivers flexibility and granular control while offering deep integration with Office 365 Profile Management to uniquely enable the native coupling of roaming cached Outlook data with the Personalization of the user’s default Outlook Profile and all other aspects of the user desktop. Granular targeting and policy control enables administrators to target pools of users, devices, network ranges or any other criteria when deploying the VHD action.

Ivanti Environment Manager delivers on-demand desktop personalization and fine-grained, contextual policy control for the user experience that gives users exactly what they need to remain productive and happy – no more and no less. By decoupling user settings and managing them separately from the desktop, it allows portability across devices while supporting compliance demands and making Windows 10 migrations faster and easier.

Ivanti Environment Manager with enhanced Cache Roaming is now available.
