OPNET Acquires Clarus Systems

OPNET Technologies announced that it has completed the acquisition of Clarus Systems, a privately held software company headquartered in Redwood City, California. The acquisition expands OPNET’s product portfolio for application and network performance management.

Clarus software provides end-to-end service management for Enterprise Voice over IP (VoIP), Unified Communications, and TelePresence video. Clarus’s award-winning solution suite, ClarusIPC Plus+, maximizes service performance and availability through automated testing, performance monitoring, configuration management, and business intelligence reporting.

Clarus’s customers include Global 100 enterprises in financial services, healthcare, energy, communications, as well as system integrators, and managed service providers.

The acquisition is expected to be slightly dilutive on a GAAP basis and slightly accretive on a non-GAAP basis for the first quarter of fiscal 2013 ended June 30, 2012, and slightly accretive on a GAAP and a non-GAAP basis for the full fiscal year 2013 ending March 31, 2013. The expected impact for the first fiscal quarter and full fiscal year 2013 are subject to completing the accounting for business combinations.
