AppDynamics announced the acquisition of Nodetime, the premier solution for monitoring Node.js applications.

This acquisition further cements AppDynamics’ role as the leading end-to-end APM provider for modern applications, and fits into their mobile strategy outlined earlier this year.

Nodetime is one of only a handful of monitoring tools for Node.js, and is currently the only mature solution on the market. Over three thousand organizations use Nodetime to monitor their Node.js applications, including Condé Nast, Kabam and Change.org, and they have an existing partnership with Heroku.

Node.js is rapidly becoming one of the most popular platforms for building fast, scalable web applications. According to a W3C tech survey, adoption of Node.js doubled in the last year alone, and the Node.js application server is currently the 14th most popular in the world. Today a range of organizations use Node.js to power their mobile applications, including LinkedIn, Walmart and Klout.

“We’re proud to be a part of the vibrant and rapidly growing Node.js community,” said Jyoti Bansal, Founder and CEO of AppDynamics. “Many of our customers have requested Node.js monitoring, and it’s clear to us that Node.js is rapidly becoming the next big thing in software. We’re happy to be able to offer our customers the best Node.js APM on the market with Nodetime.”

Founder and CEO of Nodetime Dimitri Melkiyan said, “Our joint solution represents a huge benefit both to our existing customers and the Node.js community as a whole. AppDynamics is already the best-in-class solution for Java, .NET and PHP, and I’m very excited and proud to work with AppDynamics to build an integrated APM solution for Node.js.”
